Welcome to Dehong Shanghai.

Dehong is an international bilingual school tailor-made for Chinese students from Grades 1 to 12. As Principal of Dehong Shanghai, I am honoured to work alongside our faculty and staff in putting Dehong’s guiding principles — Students Come First, One Family of Schools, and Pioneering Spirit — into practice, creating a fulfilling and meaningful learning experience for every student.

Guided by our motto, “Be virtuous, wise, ambitious and broadminded,” we believe that education is not only about academic achievement, but also about the development of the whole person. We aspire for Dehong students to become academically accomplished, healthy and well-rounded lifelong learners, with a strong sense of pride in their Chinese cultural identity and a global perspective that enables them to contribute meaningfully to the future of China and the wider world.

At Dehong, we value the individuality, interests and potential of every student. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and caring environment, where rigorous and challenging learning experiences inspire curiosity and a genuine love of learning. At the same time, we support our students in building confidence, developing their capabilities and discovering their own paths through exploration.

We also recognise that a child’s growth is a shared journey between school and home. A positive, open and trusting partnership with families is fundamental to each student’s long-term development. We look forward to working closely with every Dehong family to support our students as they grow academically, personally and socially.
